created to Stir Your Soul with Moments of Peace

I create art for people who feel deeply connected to place, light, and the quiet moments in between.

My work is not about capturing scenes exactly as they appear, but about preserving how they felt to be there. The stillness. The breath of air. The sense of time slowing, if only for a moment.

I believe art should live gently with you. It should offer calm without demanding attention, and meaning without explanation. The kind of work that reveals itself slowly and becomes more familiar and comforting over time.

Each piece begins outdoors, shaped by walking, observing, and allowing the landscape to speak for itself. What you see is the result of patience, presence, and a deep respect for nature as both subject and teacher.

Imagining What Will One Day Hang on Your Wall

“When you choose one of my works, you’re not simply selecting an image. You’re inviting a moment of peace into your space. A reminder to pause. To breathe. To reconnect.”

My hope is that these pieces become part of your daily rhythm. Something you notice differently as the light changes. Something that grounds you in a busy world.

If my work gives you that quiet sense of arrival, then it has found the right home.

Meet The Artist

James A. Truett

James A. Truett is an artist and photographer based in County Clare, Ireland. His work focuses on nature, landscapes, and abstract forms, with an approach that deliberately blurs the boundary between photography and painting.

“My work is not about capturing scenes exactly as they appear, but about preserving how they felt to be there. The stillness. The breath of air. The sense of time slowing, if only for a moment.”

Using soft focus, subtle transitions, and atmospheric light, Truett creates images that carry the visual and tactile qualities of impressionist canvases while remaining rooted in the photographic process. The result is a calm, dreamlike aesthetic that invites sustained looking rather than quick consumption.

"When someone chooses one of my pieces for their home, I feel like I’m sharing a small piece of my own journey with them."

“Many collectors tell me they don’t just see my work, they feel it. That connection is everything to me.”

my why

I began my career as a journalist, trained to focus on conflict and what went wrong in the world. Over time, I felt drawn in a different direction.

My art is a conscious choice to slow down, notice what’s often overlooked, and share moments of beauty, calm, and quiet meaning.

My artworks are not meant to speak loudly or universally. They reveal themselves slowly to those attuned to nuance, light, and mood.

I don’t create for a broad audience. I work with a particular sensibility in mind, someone drawn to subtlety, softness, and the emotional weight of light. If a piece resonates with you, it’s because you already understand the language it’s speaking.

“My work begins outdoors, but it’s finished inside the quiet space where memory, emotion, and light meet.”

“I’m drawn to landscapes that invite you to slow down, linger, and notice what usually gets missed.”

What My Collectors Say

“Everything about it is breathtakingly beautiful. This is a Masterpiece.”

“Just when I thought I had the most beautiful pieces of art from James A. Truett's collection, he creates this! The Portal to Dromore Wood in County Clare, framed by the lovely entrance to the Church of The Holy Rosary in Castlebar, County Mayo got my attention immediately. Everything about it is breathtakingly beautiful. This is a Masterpiece, James. ”

“This is not artwork that hangs on a wall. This is artwork that pulls the viewer in.”

"James' artwork speaks to me. No artist has captured the essence of Ireland and her beauty like he has. It triggers an emotional response, not just a visual. I don't just 'see' the picture, I am actually there, in the scene, hearing, smelling, touching the surroundings. This is not artwork that hangs on a wall. This is artwork that pulls the viewer in.”

“he finds beauty and colour in an area that is frequently portrayed for just its rugged beauty.”

"I just received my first two prints of the Carrigaholt/Moyarta area of County Clare, and they are fantastic. This is the ancestral home of the Kelly/Griffin clan, and James took some incredible shots of that area for us. Thank you to James for this. What caught my attention to his work in the first place is that he finds beauty and color in an area that is frequently portrayed for just its rugged beauty. I will be ordering more for the family collection as time goes on.”

“I have it proudly displayed with some more of James' works on a wall dedicated to his photos.”

"I had approached James via text to see if he had a picture that I could pair with a poem I had written. James shared this picture with me and all of his other followers. This picture covered everything I had requested, and I was delighted with its content. I thank James and have it proudly displayed with some more of James' works on a wall dedicated to his photos. Thank You James.”
